Meagan & Haydan White || April 28th, 2018

We definitely have a case of the blues, but in a good way!

This gorgeous April wedding was the perfect example of such subtle colors that just compliment one another so so well. Meet Meagan & Haydan, we are excited to share a glimpse into their big day here with us at Barnett Estates.

Meagan & Haydan met through mutual friends who they both went country dancing with, and boy do they do that well! Before we dive into the details of their beautiful day, here is how HE popped the question:

Meagan wrote: “He took me by surprise! He had gotten us some great seats behind home plate at a Rangers baseball game, while I was watching for pop flies he got down on one knee and popped the question.”

There is just something about the rustic/industrial vibe from the cowboy boots and cowboy hats to the metal lanterns filled with sweet pastels. I have to admit, I am a little sad that I didn’t think of this wedding color palette for myself, it is stunning.

Featuring white peonies, juliette garden roses, white hypericum, light pink astribe, and a variety of eucalyptus and ruscus greenery, this couple topped the cake with the perfect duo of rustic/chic feel with so much romance. They envisioned a draped pergola, simple yet statement centerpieces and vintage lanterns. Our hats are off to you both!

We provided their 4 tier cake which included a variety of flavors such as: Chocolate Fudge, White Caramel, White Chocolate Raspberry with Cream Cheese Buttercream.    For dinner our guests were served Brisket, Smoked Turkey & Ham with all the bells and whistles on gorgeous grey linens with blush accents. Oh and did we mention that they had an ICE CREAM BAR? Oh yes, we had a fun time making homemade ice cream in house with over 12 different toppings and sauces. Mouth watering yet?

It was such a pleasure getting the know this sweet family and truly enjoyed their time here with us at the venue! We look forward to celebrating many more milestones a long the way! Best of wishes, Barnett Staff.

Lauren & Erik Beruvides || April 21st, 2018

We are so excited to share Lauren and Erik’s big day here with us at Barnett Estates.     Let us begin by telling you Erik’s precious proposal story:

” I wrote a letter to Lauren each day of the week before the proposal. On the Sunday of the proposal, we went to church and then I had a surprise date day planned. We went to Cultivar Coffee (where I hid the ring in my pocket) and then went towards the Denton Square. We then went to Recycled Books where we found a Hall & Oates Christmas album to listen to on our way to our date (the album was not great). As we were leaving, I slipped a book into the bag with the album and we walked towards the Denton Square. When I was in the right position, I pulled the book out of the bag and gave it to Lauren. She was surprised and read what was in the book. On the last page was the final letter of the week, which is where I asked her to marry me. I dropped to one knee, opened the ring box, and asked Lauren to marry me. She started crying and hugged me – and then said YES!! We had friends and family hiding and taking photos, it was a really special moment and a day to remember.”

These two are the epitome of undying love, Lauren and Erik met at a good friends engagement party where they spent most of the time talking. On their first date, they spent an entire day together! Starting at church, then to an impromptu Lacrosse Game, Houndstooth Coffee, the Perot Museum, and later spent the evening in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas. They were then inseparable!

For the wedding, these two chose muted greens, creams, with a hint of blue and we TOTALLY approve. Lauren rocked an elegant low updo with subtle stems of matching floral with a breathtaking spaghetti strapped ballgown dress. With spring showers brings May flowers, am I right? These two chose to celebrate their holy matrimony in our chandelier adorned log cabin and gosh was it a beautiful ceremony. Lined with floral filled tree stumps, scriptures and ending with our wooden cross and pergola, it was all in all very magical. We are OBSESSED with the bridesmaids dress combinations of blues and greens, while the guys sported khaki pants and white shirts, it was a perfect fit!!

Following their ceremony and dinner, they opted for an outdoor reception area under our bistro lights along with their coffee bar! We had such a blast entertaining this sweet couple and for having the opportunity to share the day with them!

Thank you guys once again for joining the Barnett Estates family, we look forward to sharing so many more anniversaries with you both!! Congratulations!

We asked the newlyweds to share their advice to other couples:

“Follow the Lord, enjoy God more than anything (including each other), do not go to sleep angry with each other (talk things through even if it means staying up later), focus on your actions and the other person’s feelings, have clear communication and don’t assume what the other person is thinking, enjoy and date each other often!”

Hannah & Steven Fineran || March 24th, 2018

We kicked our year off with a sweet and subtle wedding surrounded by their most favorite people. Meet Hannah and Steven, they met in College Station through mutual friends and spent their first date together at El Chicos, yumm! Hannah is from Big Sandy which is a little town in East Texas (my neck of the woods), and Steven is from Flower Mound!

They went for a more natural rustic theme for their big day spent with us and I think that they nailed it. From the soft, soft blues, to the hints of blush, the entire day tied together perfectly from beginning to end. Hannah wore a beautiful detailed A-line gown with simple diamonds, and man she wore it well! I am still having a fit over her shoes and her bridesmaids dress, like why did I think of that? Ha! I have to admit, this is the absolute definition of a beautiful spring time wedding and we are ecstatic that they chose to share their day here with us.

For their centerpieces they went with beautiful lanterns and wreathes filled with eucalyptus and floating candles. I love that to be unique, they went with our vintage archway and dolled it up with fresh greenery. We lined the aisle with stumps, vintage lanterns and matching wreathes to tie in their perfect little theme.

Can we just talk about these floral arrangements for a minute? Okay, so between the blush roses and the pink astribe I am absolutely in LOVE with this pastel masterpiece. Hannah opted for a more neutral palette for her floral and I truly believe it was a staple in her big day! The girls wore white tops with flowy light blue skirts while the guys wore jeans, tan jackets and light blue ties. Food was served by Big Jacks BBQ out of Lewisville and they definitely did not disappoint, offering: Brisket, Chicken, Sausage and signature sides.

DJ Astronaut brought down the house with his incredible talents, Kelsie Hendricks and Blalock Media documented the entire event and Krum Clips Salon created all of these gorgeous hair and makeup looks for the beautiful bridal party. Of course they ended their night with the perfect last dance and a dreamy sendoff of sparklers to send them on their way to Mexico for their honeymoon!

Thank you guys so much for spending your day here with us, we love getting to know each and every Barnett bride and we can’t wait to continue to celebrate your love!

Advice from our Couple: “Be friends, it makes the relationship part so much easier.”

Stefanie & Brandon Hall || Oct. 28th, 2017

Meet Stefanie & Brandon.

This sweet couple met at Uncle Julio’s Restaurant, where the both were currently working. They love spending time with one another enjoying movies and poker nights. They have a handsome little boy together named Brayden and two fur babies named Toby & Jack!

They opted for a Fall themed wedding here at Barnett Estates and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. From pumpkin draped aisle decor to Orange Crush Roses, we were ALL IN! They decorated their pergola with a fabric garland that was swagged with gorgeous fall colors. Their autumn themed wedding was the perfect fit for their navy/gold linens accentuated with gorgeous table toppers including: cedar planks, vintage lanterns and mason jars.

We still can’t get over the “fall-heavy” floral arrangements. They had Purple Berry Calla Lillie’s, Orange Crush Roses, Burgundy Dahlias and Hypericum, Yellow Button Poms and a wide variety of Eucalyptus to draw in that fall wedded feel.

Of course they had to top it off with some unique cake flavor choices, the Brides cake was a scrumptious Lemon Blue Berry with Blueberry Cream cheese while the Groom enjoyed a Mocha Caramel Cappuccino Cake with Cream cheese Buttercream. Yumm.

We are ecstatic that the Halls decided to share their season themed day with us here at the venue and we can’t wait to show you glimpse into their eventful day. They decided to spend their glorious honeymoon in Jamaica!

Christine & Michael Sullivan || November 11th, 2017

This is how their love story began:  ❤

It all started when Christine and Michael met only six weeks after his big move from Maryland to Texas. They had several opportunities to meet during the month of January during their routine gym sessions at “Crunch Addison”. After weeks of exchanging glances and smiles with any excuse to lift next to the other [and with a little encouragement from her friends], Christine used social media and a popular dating app to track down the mysterious man in the baseball cap with nice biceps. Unfortunately, she was unable to find Michael, but she was able to find his workout buddy instead. Christine was able to get Michael’s full name to message him personally on Facebook. This finally gave Michael the guts to confront Christine face to face at the gym and say, “What’s up?”. After a week of joint gym sessions and completed “swolemate applications”, Michael asked Christine to go on their first date at Whiskey Cake on February 20th, 2015. They engaged in deep conversations, sipped some delicious whiskey and were even told, “you guys make a good looking couple!”. By the end of the night both were already highly infatuated with another [despite Michael’s starched jeans and junkie shoes, haha].

We are so happy that Christine and Michael chose Barnett Estates to be their full day wedding experience and boy do they have some incredible taste in themes and colors. They went for a more Woodsy/Chic theme with color palettes ranging from celedon, taupe, ivory and hunter green. It seriously looks like something out of a magazine! They draped their reception area with linens of khaki, ivory and greens with gobs and gobs of greenery geometric lanterns and cedar planks. I said they were going for woodsy right? Well they totally nailed it.

Can we just take a moment and admire Christine’s dress? She hand designed her entire gown from scratch, being the fashion designer that she is, she managed to put together a showstopping gown with a low back and high slit. A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y STUNNING! We had the pleasure of doing her floral and we have to say, her bouquet was one of the staple pieces! Including White Alabaster Garden Roses, Queen Anne’s Lace, White Hypericum, Green Mini Hydrangeas, Italian Ruscus, and a variety of Eucalyptus!

For their dinner menu, they enjoyed Pulled Pork, Balsamic Glazed Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, with a large variety of home style sides. Hungry yet? Well if you aren’t then I will for sure make your mouth water with their cake choices! Christine’s cake was an absolute masterpiece, with silver linings and peaks of gold she went with half Lemon Green Tea and Green Tea Buttercream as well as a Chocolate Amaretto and Buttercream! Oh but it gets better, Michael’s cake was a replica of his dress blues that was a Hazelnut Spice with Cream cheese Buttercream.

We could go on for hours about every little detail of this beautiful event, however what mattered most is that they were surrounded by their circle that supported them the most and that is what makes days like these so incredibly memorable. And we are just thrilled that we got to witness and partake in it from start to finish.

Their advice to other couples: “Always be open with your communication and listen to the others’ concerns. Be willing to compromise and forgive the other no matter the circumstances. Love each other deeply and be sure to keep your love rooted with God.”

Congratulations once again guys, we are touched that you chose us to make your day nothing short of exemplary.
